Asian fisheries executives from 10 countries, including those within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations are in Cebu for the five-day 45th council meeting of the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC) that will discuss, among other matters, new technologies that can be used in ensuring abundant fish supply in the region. Said SEAFDEC council meeting, hosted by the Philippines, is being attended by representatives from Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. Malaysia did not send a representative to the five-day meeting, which kicked off last Monday at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Cebu City.
