The Department of Agriculture has finally issued the highly controversial administrative order reorganizing the management structure of the department. According to the AO issued last May 15, a copy of which was furnished the STAR, there will be five undersecretaries: one for extension, local government unit support and infrastructure: one for research and development; one for fisheries; one for finance and administration; and another for policy and planning. The Undersecretary for Fisheries (Drilon) will have under him the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, the Philippine Fisheries Development Authority, SEAFDEC, and the National Fisheries Research and Development Institute.
