The Department of Agriculture (DA) celebrates its 118th Anniversary with its vital role in nation building more marked than ever. Mandated to promote agricultural and fisheries development and growth, the DA has been at the forefront of providing the Filipino with better opportunities for livelihood and sufficient food supply even in he face of challenges. To help perform its mandate the DA has embarked on programs such as the National Rice Program, the Agri-Pinoy Corn Program, Agri-Pinoy Livestock Program, National Fisheries Program, HVCDP (High Value Crop Development), Sugarcane Industry Roadmap, Philippine Coconut Authority Programs/Projects, Organic Agriculture Program, and in partnership with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), the Farm to Market Development Program.
