Now, seahorses can be bred in captivity. This scientific headway was achieved by researchers of the government-hosted Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center-Aquaculture Department (SEAFDEC-AQD) in this seaside town 24 km west of Iloilo City. The feat was ahieved in the breeding of three seahorse species native to the Philippinesm namely: Hippocampus kudo, H. Barbouri, and H. comes.
