The Tubbataha ranger station has been a second home to a dozen dedicated park rangers standing vigil over the 97, 030-hectare Tubbataha reef natural park in Palawan. The crucial role the station and the park rangers play protecting the Tubbataha reef was highlighted by the damage caused by two foreign vessels running aground on the corals early this year. The station has seen better days after decades of serious weathering and needs an upgrade soon.
