The Department of Agriculture (DA) is not authorizing anyone to import fish for the wet markets. An official of DA has said that he has not seen any draft memo at the Office of the Secretary or at Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources as claimed by an alliance of organizations led by the Tambuyog Development Center (TDC) and backed by the Alyansa Agrikultura. the same official was emphatic in denying that the country will be flooded with imported fish in no time, adding that those who claim that there is such an authorization "are terribly wrong."
