    Excerpt
Wing blister oyster pearl farming/production is emerging as another source of income for many Leyte fishermen, according to the provincial government. Leyte Governor Leopoldo Dominico Petilla said that his office is implementing and supporting a wing blister oyster pearl farming/production in coordination with the Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (DA-BFAR) in five coastal towns. Petilla said that the project is part of the poverty alleviation initiative and Yolanda rehabilitation and recovery program aimed at extending livelihood assistance to residents adversely affected by the effects of super typhoon Yolanda in 2013.
