'Ulysses' damage to agriculture sector rises to ₱4 billion

Typhoon "Ulysses" has already incurred nearly ₱4 billion worth of damage to the country’s agriculture sector, with rice as the most affected crop. Data from the Department of Agriculture's (DA) Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) showed that as of November 18, the damage and losses that the farm sector so far sustained from the typhoon already rose to ₱3.84 billion, affecting 104,733 farmers and fisherfolk. Ulysses, the deadliest typhoon that hit the country so far for this year, also brought damages to as much as 101,904 hectares of agricultural areas, with volume of production loss at 160,873 metric tons (MT).
