Department of Science and Technology Regional Office VI (DOST VI) once again proved that even at the midst of a pandemic, the quality of service should not be affected by bringing the technological innovations in agriculture through a webinar called “Innovations in Rice and Corn Production,” in partnership with the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCAARRD) last August 27, 2020. Said webinar is an initiative of DOST VI to help improve the production of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) specifically in the rice and corn sector and aspiring entrepreneurs and showcase technologies developed by researchers from DOST PCAARRD. Previously, the DOST VI conducted a webinar series on business opportunities in food innovations in partnership with Food and Nutrition Research Institute (FNRI) and Industrial Technology Development Institute (ITDI) followed by another webinar series on business opportunities for MSMEs in the fisheries sector in partnership with the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV). The series also aired the webinar called Innovative Technologies in Improving Aquaculture Practices in partnership with the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center- Aquaculture Department (SEAFDEC-AQD) last August 7, 2020.en
