International humanitarian child-centered community development organization, Plan International recently organized a mangrove planting and kayaking clinic for girls in line with its global campaign for gender equality, dubbed "Because I am a Girl." The mangrove planting was conducted in Olango Island, a farmed bird sanctuary and disaster-prone area in partnership with Globe Telecom, Be Resorts and Kayakasia Philippines. The event was also in celebration of the first ever International Day of the Girl and the 2012 International Day for Disaster Reduction (IDDR).
