The Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC) has admitted Indonesia as a member. Panu Tavarutmaneegul, secretary-general of the Thailnad-based SEAFDEC secretariat, announced Indonesia's admission as the center's ninth member. The SEAFDEC is a treaty organization founded in 1967 to promote fisheries development in Southeast Asia.
