Indonesia has been admitted as member of the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC). Panu Tavarutmaneegul, secretary general of the Bangkok, Thailand-based SEAFDEC secretariat, announced Indonesia's admission as the center's ninth MEMBER. SEAFDEC is a treaty organization founded in 1967 to promote fisheries development in Southeast Asia.
