The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) has signed three agreements with three Southeast Asian organizations - the Foundation for Information Technology Education and Development (FIT-ED), the SEAMEO Regional Center for Graduate Studies in Agriculture (SEARCA), and the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center Aquaculture Department (SEAFDEC AQD). SEAFDEC AQD and UPOU are collaborating on the design and production of online courses in aquaculture for fisheries personnel in the region. SEAFDEC AQD Director Dr. Rolando Platon signed the agreement with the UPOU Foundation represented by its Executive Director Dr. Maria Cristina Padolina.
