"The best prawn quality so far... we should step up the promotion of this technology," says SEAFDEC AQD Chief Dr. Rolando Platon of the result of the prawn harvest of the SEAFDEC-BFAR (Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center-Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources) joint project in Barangay Butong, Taal, Batangas. "After several successful demonstrations runs in the Visayas, Mindanao and now here in Luzo, we believe that environment-friendly prawn technology can be applicable or adaptable to other sites", he said.
However, "success is not enough", say BFAR Director Malcolm Sarmiento adding "this technology should be adopted by the people.
