The National Agricultural and Fishery Council (NAFC) has asked the Bureau of Fisheries and Natural Resources (BFAR) and the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center-Aquaculture Department (SEAFDEC-AQD) to implement a single protocol for tests on Pacific White Shrimp. A uniform procedure will prevent contradictory results and maintain the integrity of the trials, the NAFC said in a resolution, considering a decision on whether to allow commercialization of the shrimp variety will be based on these tests. "Separate tests conducted by the BFAR and SEAFDEC-AQD used different protocols and produced contradictory results," the NAFC said.
