Not new but high tech just the same, geospatial technologies is now being applied for mussel culture management. Geospatial technologies in the Philippines include geographic mapping and analysis of the Earth surface and human activities. Computers allowed storage and transfer of imagery together with the development of associated digital software, maps, and data sets collectively called Geographic Information System (GIS).
