local.seafdecaqd.extract | Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center's Aquaculture Development has opened its doors to businessmen looking at possible investments in aquaculture under an agree-build-operate-transfer scheme (Abot). According to Iloilo-based Southeast Asian Fisheries, private investors can choose among eight hatchery-nursery technology packages and another eight grow-out technology packages. In general, investments in aquaculture can range from as low as P30,000 for catfish grow-out operations, up to P2 million for freshwater prawn hatchery, with returns estimated at roughly 50-300 percent in a year. | en |
