Guimaras, DENR-6 partner in forest, mangrove protection

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources-6 has partnered with four town, seven barangays and three people’s organizations in Guimaras for the protection of the planted trees and mangroves under the National Greening Program (NGP). According to DENR-6, it signed a Letter of Agreement with the representatives of its partners at San Miguel, Jordan recently. The DENR-6 granted the financial support to the following barangays: Hoskyn, Jordan; Tacay, Buenavista; Tanglad, Sibunag; Guiwanon, Nueva Valencia, and to the three People’s Organizations namely: La Paz Fisherfolks and Aquatic Resources and Mangrove Management Association (LAFARMA), San Roque Coastal Environment Program Association (SARCEPA) and Guiwanon Upland Farmers Fruit and Forest Trees Association (GUFFFTA).
