    Excerpt
The National Task Force West Philippine Sea (NTF WPS) on Sunday announced that it has deployed an inter-agency patrol to assert the country’s sovereignty over Pag-asa Island, its three cays and its adjacent waters. “An inter-agency maritime operation [Iamo] at Pag-asa Cay 1, Cay 2, and Cay 3 and its surrounding waters was completed this morning, April 27. This coordinated effort involved the Navy [PN], Coast Guard [PCG], and National Police-Maritime Group [PNP-Margroup],” it added. This was done after Chinese media reports claimed that China has taken possession of one of the cays over the weekend.
