The department of Agriculture (DA) has raised its budget for research and development (R&D) to promote science-based agriculture development, according to a statement yesterday. Agriculture Secretary Proceso J. Alcala said the agency allocated P1.33 billion for this purpose next year from the P1.12 billion this year. This was announced during a forum last week aimed at highlighting the breakthroughs in agriculture R&D, as well as provide fresh perspectives on technology commercialization.
