Excerpt
About 1,000 kilograms (kg) of waste were collected during the coastal cleanup at Villarica Baywalk, extending to Babak Market in the Island Garden City of Samal (Igacos) on January 24, 2025. Approximately 1,249 kg of non-biodegradable waste, 83 kg of bio-waste (such as manure, sawdust, food scraps, and other wastes that are mostly composed of organic matter), and 30 kg of PET bottles were collected by around 364 volunteers during the coastal cleanup, which was held in celebration of Zero Waste Month with the theme "Integrating Sustainability and Circularity into the Informal Waste Sector."
