The Department of Agriculture (DA) has initiated the development of low-cost feed for "bangus" (milkfish) and tilapia, two of the leading fish products in the Philippines, hoping to alleviate the rising cost of aquaculture. In a statement, the DA said the National Fisheries Research and Development Institute (NFRDI), the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center-Aquaculture Division (SEAFDEC-AQD) and the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources teamed up to conduct a field test on the formulated feed for milkfish and tilapia.
