The aquaculture department of the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (Seafdec-AQD) announced yesterday that it has eliminated one big obstacle to the full development of shrimp farming into a major export industry. Seafdec-AQD Chief Alfredo Santiago Jr. reported that the center's scientists have evolved a technology for the production, processing, and utilization of brine shrimp which is scientifically called Artemia.
