The Aquaculture Department of the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC-AQD) welcomed yesterday the special audit of its accounts as directed by the President. SEAFDEC-AQD chief Dr. Alfredo C. Santiago Jr. said the audit was about the only effective defense that the center could use against the alleged smear campaign that is presently leveled at it by its perennial detractors.
