The late Dr. Francisco Nemenzo, world-acclaimed coral taxonomist and former dean of the UP Diliman College of Arts and Sciences, was posthumously honored at the recently held fifth biennial gathering of the Philippine Association of Marine Science (PAMS). The affair was held at the University of the Philippines-Marine Science Institute (UPMSI) with "Philippine Marine Sceicne - Facing the Challenges of the New Millenium" as its theme. Some 300 participants from 76 academic and private institutions, government, NGOs and the private industry attended the scientific gathering.
