    Excerpt
Philippine shrimps, including tiger prawns, pass world preference for quality. Shrimp culture, according to an expert, is a very good business, with worldwide demand showing consistent growth of 2.5 percent per year estimated to last well into the 21st century. Jonathan Nacario, a local and international consultant for aquaculture, urges growers who practice intensive shrimp or prawn production to observe environment-friendly methods to prevent losses from diseases and avoid polluting the ponds and the surroundings areas.
