The river's marine products are threaten by a high level of phosphate and the city mayor is now addressing the possible wide destruction that may cause more death on fishes. Earlier, Felicidad Salazar Visser called the attention of Barangay Tebeng Council regarding the death of different river species like tilapia, malaga (siganid), catfish and mudfish in her fishpond sometime last November 2015. In her meeting with barangay officials last January 6, Visser also had the water tested by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR).en
