A Filipino fisheries scientist here is among 10 from various parts of the world who qualified for research grant given by the Sweden-based International Foundation for Science (IFS). He is Dr. Wenresti Gallardo, scientist of the government-hosted Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center Aquaculture Department (SEAFDEC AQD) based in this town situated 24 kilometers west of Iloilo City.
