A manual on the "Biology and Hatchery of Mud Crabs" is off the press, authored by Drs. Emilia T. Quinitio and Fe Dolores P. Estepa of the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center - Aquaculture Department based in Tigbauan, Iloilo. The new manual describes procedures in setting up a mud crab hatchery, starting from the selection to design and layout of facilities. The crab hatchery operation is very similar to that of a shrimp hatchery.
