    Excerpt
The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) 11 has committed fiberglass paddle boats for mariculture practitioners in Samal Island, Davao del Norte in a bid to boost the sector's production. Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel PIñol said that the agency will be committing the items to help increase production of seaweed, locally known as 'guso' and scientifically referred to as carrageenan. The product is considered of high potential, especially from various products.
