    The Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of Republic Act (RA) 10601, the Agriculture and Mechanization Act (AFMech), were signed on February 2, 2014, paving the way for the creation of Bureau of Agricultural Fisheries Engineering (BAFE), under the Department of Agriculture. One year from the signing of IRR, the BAFE is expected to draw out a five-year National Agri-Fishery Mechanization Program that will encourage the local manufacturing of farm machineries that in turn rural areas as will as support the food staple sufficiency goals.
