To improve the livelihood of fishermen in the Western Visayas region they must be included in the National Program for Municipal Fisherfolk Registration (FishR). This was emphasized by Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR-6) regional director Drusila Bayate during the February 18, 2014 launch of FishR here. BFAR-6 aims to register at least 100,000 fishermen from 84 coastal cities and towns in Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo, and Negros Occidental provinces.
