The Department of Environment and Natural Resources on Friday ordered the total stoppage of transport of all types of logs that would use the mighty Agusan River and its tributaries to avert further accidents and damage of river banks and its surrounding areas. The regional office of the DENR also ordered all field offices and its monitoring stations to strictly impose the ban on cutting of any tree along the waterways and instead urge residents to step the tree-planting activities along the river banks.
