The seaweed industry anticipates a $200-million export this year; still a 10 percent growth amid the dreary performance tagged to be one of the "industry's worst" owing to the volatile peso movement. The Seaweed Industry Association of the Philippines (SIAP) attributes the brisk second half of the recovery of the North American market, the industry's major market, after a few years of recession.
