    Excerpt
Environment Secretary Horacio Ramos has claimed that the recent signing of Republic Act No. 10067, which places the 97,030-hectare Tubbataha Reef in Palawan under a permanent protection status, would improve the lives of 120 million people living in the Coral Triangle. Coral Triangle runs across the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, and Timor-Leste and is regarded as the habitat of bluefin tuna and others deep sea and pelagic fish species.
