    Excerpt
Amid continuous adverse effects the prolonged dry spell is inflicting on thousands of hectares of farmlands and fishponds in different parts of the country, the Rural Bankers Association of the Philippines (RBAP) has stepped in to give the embattled sector a much-needed boost. Joseph Omar O. Andaya, RBAP president, said rural banks will remain committed in their vision of providing for the banking needs of the so-called unserved and undeserved segments of the market. "Now, more than ever, farmers and fisher folks need us," he said.
