Twenty-five experts who assessed the Laguna de Bay ecosystem have urged government to craft a program to improve the water holding capacity of Laguna de Bay to ensure its sustained fish production. These experts, led by Rodel Lasco of UP Los Baños and Victoria Espaldon of UP Diliman, issued the call in a report issued in 2005 on behalf of the Millenium Ecosystem Assessment (MA) of the United Nations (UN). In calling for a collective effort to maintain the capacity of Laguna de Bay to produce food, the experts noted the drastic reduction of the fish output of the lake.en
