Before me, in the blue-green haze of the Donsol Sea, a 10-ton gray specter with checkerboard spots resolved into 30 feet of whale shark. "Jump!" the spotter barked as the shadow of the mighty fish broke through the waters. My companion where the spotter pointed and froze. The whale shark was bigger than our boat.
