Filipinos are urged to participate in the annual International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) this year's drive which involved 600,000 volunteers in picking up more than 6 million pound (lbs) of trash over 20,000 miles of coastlines worldwide. With this year's theme "Take on the Trash," the Ocean Conservancy-ICC Philippines with the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA) will lead the 27th International Coastal Cleanup on October 6. The national coordinators in the administration of the ICC Philippines urged volunteers around the world to pledge to "Take on the Trash" and help build the collective movement for "Trash Free Seas" by reducing their own trash impact and helping clean up what's already out there.en
