    Police Major General Elmo Francis O. Sarona, Director of the Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management of the Philippine National Police, spearheaded the ceremonial destruction of illegal fishing paraphernalia during a ceremony held at Caraga Police Regional Office 13 (PRO 13) headquarters here yesterday. PRO 13 Regional Director Brig. Gen. Gilberto DC Cruz disclosed that, from January to July, PRO 13 was able to conduct a total of 138 illegal fishing operations, which resulted in the apprehension of 240 violators, confiscation of ₱115, 245 worth of illegally caught fishes, ₱1,672,168.00 worth of illegal fishing paraphernalia and 19 blasting caps.
