    Excerpt
The Philippines has expressed its full support to the diplomatic conference on safety of fishing vessels for the benefit of seafarers held recently in Cape Town, South Africa. The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said the conference adopted the Cape Town Agreement of 2012, which amended provisions of the 1993 Torremolinos Protocol relating to the 1977 Torremolinos International Convention for the Safety of Fishing Vessels. The agreement is expected to be opened for signature of governments from February 11, 2013, to February 10, 2014 at the headquarters of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in London.
