    They're gone. This was that the fisherfolk said of the 17 indigenous fish species at the Laguna de Bay that they used to catch before the Napinda Hydraulic Control Structure (NHCS) was built in 1982 and stopped the entry of saltwater from Manila Bay through the Pasig River and into the 94,800 hectare lake, the country's biggest.
