    Excerpt
The waters of this coastal town, also called Salinas, is now 95 percent oil spill free, and that the slick-struck fishing villages are getting back on their feet with the development, the municipal government said Wednesday. Mayor Jose "Nonong" Ricafrente said the resiliency and perseverance of the local government, other concerned agencies, and residents to contain the spill have fast-tracked the cleaning progress of the affected waters in the area. Based on survey, assessment, and reports of concerned local departments, Ricafrente said the municipal water is now 95 percent free from spill and "may turn 100 percent in the next few days."
