    Excerpt
The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) recently launched in this municipality the newest program to rehabilitate and save the Philippines' coral reefs. The program dubbed "Sustainable Coral Reef Ecosystems Management Program" will be implemented in the Biri-Larosa Protected Landscape/Seascape Area, a priority site for the implementation of Sustainable Coral Reef Ecosystems Management Program in Region-8, pursuant to DENR Administrative Order No. 2013-12. Corazon Horca Makabenta, Chief of the Coastal Marine and Management Divison of DENR 8, said this island is not only known for its geological wonder but is also home to varied coastal and marine biodiversity.
