Edmund and Yayan Mercado of Angat, Bulacan are entrepreneurs who are always looking for new possibilities. Sometime back, they became the first accredited producers of native hito fingerlings by the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC) based in Tigbauan, Iloilo. After reading about the research breakthrough on native hito by SEAFDEC, they immediately took steps so they could become the authorized breeders of the native hito in Luzon.
