The Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC) has admitted Indonesia as a member. Secretary General Panu Tavarutmaneegul of the Bangkok, Thailand-based SEAFDEC-secretariat, announced Indonesia's admission as the center's ninth member. SEAFDEC is a treaty organization founded in 1967 to promote founded in 1967 to promote fisheries development in Southeast Asia.
