Iloilo is also the site of some interesting innovations and technologies in aquaculture and coastal resource management. The prestigious Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC) in Tigbauan and the U.P. College of Fisheries in Visayas in Miagao are both located in the province. We had the opportunity of interviewing some of the local leaders in fisheries and resource management - Dr. Rolando Platon, SEAFDEC chief, Dr. Leonor Santos, dean of U.P. Visayas School of Fisheries, and of course Dr. Sonia Seville, BFAR regional director, our partner in the IEC implementors.
