Started in 1996, the SEAFDEC AQD ornamental seahorse project focuses on the development of captive breeders for fry production and juveniles, specifically of two species - Hippocampus kuda and H. barbouri. AEAFDEC AQD, currently headed by Dr. Rolando R. Platon, reported that the program has successfully produced hatchery-reared broodstock (breeder) and second-generation offspring.en
