    Excerpt
Usec Cesear Drilon of the Department of Agriculture appealed to the Ilonggos particularly, Tigbauan, Oton, and Guimbal fisherfolks to protect the Kapis shells (locally known as lampirong) along Panay Gulf. This was addressed during a dialogue with the fisherfolks last July 7 regarding protection of breeding sites of Kapis shells in the first district of Iloilo - a project of SEAFDEC AQD (Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center Aquaculture) in collaboration with the local government units (LGUs). The dialogue was conducted per advise of Usec Drilon in an effort to interact directly with the fisherfolks of Iloilo.
