The once quiet compound of the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center-Aquaculture Department (SEAFDEC-AQD) is now the site of protests, complete with public address systems blaring caustic speeches and loud disco music. Scientists were no longer safely ensconced in their laboratories but out on the streets, lambasting Seafdec-AQD chief Rolando Platon, whom they do have accused of mismanagement and conflict of interest, among others.
